Mainframe Defenders Devlog: Reworks and balance.

Hello and welcome to another Mainframe Defenders devlog.

I've been busy lately trying to make the game somewhat balanced =D. This included adding more viable options for unit upgrades and an insane amount of item changes. But I want to talk about move bonus rework in particular. Before the update, you've had your default 6 move distance and 3 bonus distance would be simply added to it, allowing a unit to traverse up to 9 tiles at a time. Now any bonus will be added as a secondary move, allowing the unit to move for up to 6 tiles, shoot, and then move again for up to 3 tiles to get some cover. I've also changed some items that required units to not move at all. Now, these items require units to have unspent move points, making move bonus even more valuable. In fact, a bit too valuable, so I might have to nerf it later. The UI was updated accordingly to display move points left:

Overall, it would difficult to make mechanics completely balanced, but this isn't the goal. The goal is to make the game beatable with any good build. At least, for now.

P. S. Thanks goes to user Tchey for encouraging experiments with kite mechanics =) In the next entry, I'll reveal the release date and price.
